*Coughs* anyway, I saw @cheapbourbon  ‘s beautiful art for their spicyhoney AU based in the Old West and my God I had a neeeeedddd that couldn’t be sated until I finally got around to writing. Honestly, I couldn’t sleep last night because I needed to write something *flails*. Sorry in advance if it’s not great, I’ve had a killer headache the entire time I was writing this x-x

Aah, yes! I’m so glad more people are picking up on this AU. Bourbon’s art is truly inspirational.

Rustling Wildflowers

sansy-fresh:

So @cheapbourbon is fucking amazing at art, and did a thing, and I gave the thing some serious thought for like half a second and here we are. I’m really not the one to even begin to try and give this idea even a quarter of the good content it deserves, but I gave it a try anyways. Because I’m a sucker for this shit.

I used some Old West terminology for a couple things, so there’ll be a mini dictionary at the end.

The Taste of Forgiveness

The clearing
was silent, like always in the early hours of mornings. The pleasant breeze
gently waved the leaves of the old trees, giving a calming feeling to the
place, as the sky started to brighten, to sun is yet to come up. The noises of
the nearby city haven’t reached this place, nor any humans or monsters.

Well, except
two of the latter species.

Slim was
sitting on a branch of one of the trees, hidden by the greenery’s shadow, smoking
as he enjoyed the peace this place offered. He was patiently waiting, knowing
he had time before the other skeleton appeared.

It was a week
ago when he first saw him. He was only passing by, out of the city where he
just finished one of his regular feeding, the dust of his chosen prey still
clinging to his jacket when he noticed the other monster jogging in the little
field. He quickly hid behind one of the trees and watched as the lanky skeleton
similar to him took a lap, passing his hideout and that was when his scent hit
him. It was strong and rich, exhilarating rather than irritating, overwhelming
his senses so much that his fangs already started to appear. His magic and
essence was intoxicating, and Slim knew if it wasn’t for his self-control, he
would have jumped on the other one, piercing his teeth through his bones,
ravishing the taste as he sucked the life out of him until he wasn’t more than a
pile of dust under him.

He never had
this desire towards anyone’s magic before, and he knew he couldn’t waste the
opportunity, but not now. So he waited until the other monster left the
clearing on the same way he came in, before he stepped out his hiding place,
saving the other’s smell in his mind as he followed him. It turned out he lived
in a wooden house, closer to the field than the city.

Since then,
for seven days long, Slim waited him every early morning on the clearing,
staying hidden as the skeleton always appeared at the same time, always taking
that one lap before he went back to his home. And every time his craving for
the other’s magic just grew, making him more and more eager to feed from him.
He didn’t even try to find another prey in the meantime, making him more
impatient until he finally gave in his hunger, choosing this day to make his
move.

He put out
his cigarette as he watched the spot where the skeleton would appear. He looked
at his watch, than back up and smirked when he noticed the other’s silhouette.
In time as always.

He waited
until the monster wasn’t more than a few feet away, and jumped down, landing on
the soft ground, not taking his eyes off of him. The other let out a surprised
yelp and stopped, looking at the newcomer with curiosity, before his usual
smile reappeared on his face.

“HELLO,
FELLOW SKELETON! I AM THE GREAT PAPYRUS, NYEH HEH HEH! I HAVE TO ADMIT, YOU
GAVE ME QUITE THE SCARE FOR A MOMENT! I DID NOT KNOW THERE WERE PEOPLE AROUND
HERE AT THIS TIME!”

Slim’s smirk
just grew wider as his scent fully hit him. His fangs were already out, barely
holding himself to grab the other. Even his voice was like his magic and it
just made him all the more impatient. The other skeleton, Papyrus apparently,
felt a bit uncomfortable after some seconds of silence, a slight unease taking
him over as he noticed the intense gaze Slim was giving him, making himself
feel like he was naked. He cocked his head a bit, making his red scarf loosen
and showing a part of his clavicle under it, the black tanktop barely covering
anything and that was the moment when Slim snapped.

Before he
could react, Papyrus was pinned to the nearest tree, gasping as the trunk made
a painful connection with his spine, probably bruising it. Both of his humerus
were pressed against the tree by the other skeleton, restraining him, as he
started to trash and kick out with his legs, only to have those pinned to the
tree as well by Slim’s body, as he loomed over him. Papyrus tried to shout at
the other to let him go but the words stuck in his mouth as he noticed the
Slim’s fangs and how said skeleton leaned closer to his clavicle. His bones
started to slightly rattle and Slim chuckled at the sound.

“ Don’ worry
sweetheart, I’ll try to be gentle”

His fangs
grazed over his bone, before he sunk his teeth into it, making Papyrus cry out
and trying to get out of his hold even more.

The aroma
that hit him was overwhelming, and his eyes widened as it hit him. It was
indescribable, better than his smell, than the scent he was craving over and he
eagerly started to drink it, lavishing in the dizziness it gave him. He
immediately sunk his fangs deeper as he moaned against the bone, shivering as
his hunger grew stronger. He never tasted something like this and he wanted more, so much more…

He didn’t
notice how Papyrus’ writhing under him grew weaker, but he definitely heard the
moan that escaped from his mouth and he stilled for a second, before he chuckled
and put one of his left hand on the skeleton’s
exposed spine, grabbing the arms of the other with his right hand and
pinning those above them. He then gently stroke the spine, earning a hitched
breath from Papyrus and he continued his light touches on the other’s vertebras
as he continued sucking, a shiver running through him again as he heard another
moan.

“P-please…
S-stop…” Papyrus voice was weak but it echoed through his body, through his
soul and it was filled with fear, but also determination and that is what made
Slim’s eyes widen, looking up at the other skeleton. His eyes were pleading and
desperate and he had tears running down his cheeks.

Their eyes
locked for a second, before Papyrus closed his and with his last strength he
had left, he started projecting. Feelings hit Slim, feelings that weren’t his:
fear for not surviving but also for not being able to go home, hope for a
better outcome and hope for someone else’s happiness, love that wasn’t towards
him but towards someone that the other wanted to protect, protect, PROTECT…

He let go of
the other, stepping back in shock at the strong emotions that still swirled in
him, that weren’t his and made him confused, his breath quickening. No one did
this before, what was happening, who-

He faintly
heard as something fell to the ground, and he blinked a few times, noticing how
his vision started to get foggy, and when it cleared, he saw Papyrus, sitting
under the tree, leaning against it, trying to even out his breathing and
staying conscious.

Something in
Slim’s mind clicked, and he stepped closer to the other. He wasn’t trying to
stay alive for his own sake, he wasn’t fighting so he could go home. He was
trying so he could go back to someone. There
was a person who was more important to him than his own life, that made Papyrus
fight not for his own, but for their
sake.

He knelt down
in front of Papyrus and slowly lifted his chin up, looking in his eyes again.
He expected hatred, disgust, every negative emotion towards him, that’s what he
saw in every prey’s eyes, but not forgiveness. He flinched in surprise and
immediately wanted to let him go, but another hand grabbed his, stopping him. A
sad smile appeared on the other’s face as he looked at him.

“Please… I… I
can’t let my brother… Be alone… I know why you are doing this… But you don’t
have to… I… I believe in you…”

Slim’s eyes
widened. How, how could this mortal
forgive to him so easily, after just what he had done? What sane monster would
do that? He couldn’t believe it. How can he look at him with such kindness and…
and pity?

It angered
him. None of the ones he fed from did that. None of them tried to understand
him or show anything but disgust and fear, none of them did what this skeleton
was doing right now and he didn’t understand how.

He felt the
other’s head getting heavier in his hold and he noticed how Papyrus’ breath was
getting slower, still fighting to not black out.

He should
kill him. The other monster will remember him and if he tells anybody, the
people will send for a hunter or more. He couldn’t risk his identity given
away, he was already dancing on the line. He will have to run and hope to never
be found if this happens.

He sighed and
leant to the two holes he made, magic still leaking out of them and he felt
Papyrus slightly still. He closed his eyes and licked up the remains of what he
did, fighting down his hunger and then put his free hand onto the wounds. He
concentrated, and soon, green magic appeared around his phalanges, healing the
holes until there was nothing and he felt Papyrus relax, letting out a long
breath.

“thank you…”
Slim opened his eyes and looked at the other and the smile he was showing him
before giving in and falling unconscious, his body going limp. Slim sighed
again as he gently picked him up, dissipating his magic and standing up,
looking around. He didn’t even notice the sun started to rise, almost letting
go of the horizon and he just stood there, watching it for a few moments. He
felt the beat of the other’s soul, feeling the warmth his body gave out and he
felt pain hit his “dead” soul as he was reminded how he had none of those
anymore.

He shook
himself out of this state, teleporting close to the wooden house and stepping
in front of the door, laying the other down onto the ground gently.

“Don’ make me
regret this sweetheart…” he mumbled as he knocked on the door and teleported
behind a tree nearby. Moments later, the door opened and Slim watched, as Papyrus’
brother looking around, then noticing his brother and crying out, falling on
his knees and hugging him. Even from the distance he felt the short skeleton’s
power as it flared up inside him, looking around in hope to find whoever did
this. Slim stood hidden, until the brother gave up and took Papyrus inside,
shutting the door after him. He then teleported back to the clearing, starting
to walk towards the waking city.

Now he just
had to wait for an outcome. But Slim was somehow certain that he won’t be found,
and he also had a feeling that he will meet at least one of the brothers again.

Oh my god, this was brilliant. Thank you so much! I really love vampire AUs (as you may be able to tell), and the Mapleblossom was just the cherry on top.

I really enjoyed your portrayal of Slim’s emotions—as well as Papyrus’ character. These two are really sweet, excellent work! (And thank you again! Aaaah!)

Compound Fracture–Cuts

itsladykit:

So. I recently realized that I was writing this chapter from the wrong POV, and that’s a big reason why I’m having so much difficulty with it. But I really like what I’ve written so far? So here–have some Spicyhoney fluff.

Takes place directly after the events of Ch. 6.

Spoilers for Compound Fracture…kind of. Honestly, this is pretty generic. Otherwise, you’re all safe. This is pure fluff. Slightly charged fluff. But it’s fluff.

God, Kit, tag your porn.

(This was so beautifully written. I’m biased, obviously, but still, it was a pleasure to read.)

Your Edge fills me with determination! Do you have any headcanon about when he first sees a proper grocery store/ farmer’s market on the surface? Especially if he’s with Stretch?

itsladykit:

I’ve been saving this because I wanted to do a drabble for it. I’m currently on mobile, so excuse any errors.

Edge stared at the various booths and tables. At the rows and rows of fresh fruit and vegetables. At the fresh honey and the freshly shelled nuts. At the cheeses, and at the artisanal breads and pastries—surely not as good as his own, but there was something appealing about the idea of just. Buying quality bread. Rather than trying to make it from rough-ground flour.

His hand reached out automatically, grasping at Stretch’s fingers. The taller Papyrus smirked. “you gonna be okay there, edgelord? you’re not breathing.”

Edge inhaled deeply and deliberately, straightening his spine and lifting his chin. “Fuck off and follow me. You have the list, right?”

Stretch chuckled and allowed Edge to tug him along as he browsed the booths, eyeing the produce critically. Edge wouldn’t admit that he was pleased at Stretch’s suggestion for this outing, would never confess to the small stars set deep in his sockets, but he never let go of the other monster’s hand either.

Once they returned home, he made sure to demonstrate his appreciation, though. First by making fresh baklava from the nuts and honey. Then using more…physical means.
