If you are comfortable doing this one… “Not so nice” #46 & #47 (they kinda go hand and hand…) And again with all the papyruses, if you dont mind. (I just love them all)

image

I don’t mind at all! I love them too.

Warning for fairly triggering content relating to suicide beneath the cut.

3. What is the worst pain they’ve ever experienced?

Papyrus

Pain? The Great Papyrus scoffs at pain! It’s probably just the way his brother treats him on a daily basis. Sans, of course, doesn’t mean to hurt Papyrus, but Papyrus hates being taken for someone so naive and innocent and stupid. It hurts. Absolutely no bother at all!

Edge

Edge has obviously sustained a lot of physical injuries throughout his life, and I’d have to develop a bit more of a background for him before I could nail the absolute worst one (maybe something to do with the scar on his eye…?). But the most painful experience for him was probably gaining LV for the first time. He might have been excited at first, but the guilt and shame would have hit him fairly quickly. It’s one of his worst memories.

Stretch

Stretch is a dick, and would probably answer ‘my entire life’ if you asked him this question. Being of low HP, he is prone to spells of “magical depression” (a lack of HP can be very trying on a monster’s energy levels, and being emotionally drained isn’t uncommon). It doesn’t create physical pain, per se (although it can, at times), but it takes an emotional toll, and sometimes these brief illnesses are worse than others.

Slim

Much like Stretch, Slim is susceptible to suffering due to his low HP. But given the nature of his universe, a small bout of sickness isn’t the worst of his troubles. (I’m honestly becoming more and more tempted to give this boy a long, angsty backstory) but for now I’ll say that Slim’s ‘worst pain’ came about when his brother started to withdraw from him emotionally. It led to a huge dip in Slim’s base HP, and it was an all around very difficult time for him.

Cash

God damn it, I need to write an angsty backstory for Cash too. AGH.

Without going into too much depth (or else, I’d just start rambling) Cash and his brother separated around the time they both reached adulthood. This was a fairly rough time for Cash. Though he was by no means eager to return to his brother (their relationship was severely damaged), he definitely struggled on his own. And, in the name of survival, he may have done some very questionable (possibly painful) things to stay alive. Selling himself for the entertainment or pleasure of others was often his only means of surviving.

Twist

No doubt Kit has more suffering planned for this boy, but I’d imagine having your eye socket shattered would be a pretty painful endeavour. (Once again, I’d recommend checking out Sins of the Past if you’re interested in seeing this boy suffer.)

46 and 47.

Have they ever contemplated suicide? and

Have they ever gone so far as to attempt suicide?

This one is obviously going to be fairly triggering, so just a warning.

Papyrus

Death is almost a laughable idea to Papyrus. He isn’t particularly afraid of dying, but it’s unlikely he would ever even consider suicide, simply because he enjoys life so much, and sees no reason to end it.

Edge

Edge has never gone so far as to attempt suicide, but the idea has certainly occurred to him. Especially when he started gaining LV, he spiralled into a pit of self-loathing, and his brother was likely the only thing that kept him going at the time (and some degree of hope for the future). When he reaches adulthood, Edge’s mental state improves significantly, especially after he enters into the Poly-Papyrus relationship (seriously guys, I love the Poly-Paps).

Stretch

Stretch honestly thinks about suicide with relative apathy. While growing up, his brief depressive episodes might have amplified the severity of these ideas, but he’s never given serious thought to the notion. He sort of considers it out of morbid curiosity. And partly because he sometimes wonders if his brother and partners would be better off without him. But it’s never reached the point where he’s genuinely considered taking the leap, so to speak. And most of these ideas pretty much dissipate once he enters the Poly-Pap relationship. His partners prove on a daily basis how much he means to them.

Slim

Of all the Papyri, I’d say Slim is the one who’s come closest to ending his life. Particularly when his relationship with his brother became strained, he might have sat on rooftops or on the edge of cliffs for hours wondering what would happen if he just ended it. But, despite how much his brother pushes him away, Slim can’t stand the idea of abandoning Razz. And (yes, I’m bringing the Poly-Pap relationship up again, because I love it damn it) Slim’s partners are very good at stifling any self-doubts he has (they still linger there from time to time, but not nearly to the point that he contemplates ending his own life).

Cash

Cash has never really had time to consider suicide, truthfully. When he was on his own, living on the streets of Hotland, every minute was a battle for survival. And Cash is a fighter. He doesn’t like giving up or backing down. He’s very stubborn. So, even if he fell into a sort of depression (as most low HP monsters are vulnerable to) he would sort of flip his middle finger at the idea of suicide. “i’ve survived this long, why the fuck would i waste it now?”

Twist

I don’t think I’m equipped to answer this, I’m afraid. I don’t want to make any assumptions of this degree about Kit’s boy. Something tells me suicide hasn’t quite ever been on his agenda though–I think he’s more likely to expect himself to die as a result of his LV, or just his life in general. “Well, there are plenty of people out there who’ll do it fer me, so I don’ need ta bother.”

From this character ask meme.

1, 4, 25, 28, 30 and 35 for all the papyri :)

image

As always with Painty, this one is long, so it’s beneath the cut.

1. What is one word to shut them up?

Answered here.

4. Describe their worst nightmare.

Papyrus

Papyrus has a fear of letting people down. While he slowly begins to overcome this after they reach the Surface, it never truly leaves him. It mostly just shifts from “oh no, people won’t like me!” to “oh no, I can’t keep my friends safe from these awful humans!” (assuming the ‘bad Surface ending’). I still headcanon that Papyrus joins the police force after they reach the Surface. If we’re taking that into account, I’d say one of his greatest fears is being unable to save people.

Edge

While the idea of losing his brother (or lovers) is terrifying to Edge, perhaps what’s worse to him is the possibility of being responsible for their deaths (as a result of succumbing to his LV). He tries to avoid the people he cares about when he can feel his LV creeping up on him.

Stretch

Stretch is terrified of the idea of being abandoned by his loved ones (brother, lovers, friends). He’s very insecure about himself, and has a deep-rooted fear of ‘no longer being needed’.

Slim

Slim is sort of a mix between Edge and Stretch. He’s afraid of seeing his brother dead–but perhaps even more than that, he’s afraid of his brother abandoning him. Razz likes to make a point of how little Slim means to him, but he’s never actually followed through with his threats. (Slim is terrified that he will, one day).

Cash

Cash has a very fastidious need to be in control. While he did perform various services of Grillby (according to my headcanons)–including, but not limited to, sexual favours–he did this voluntarily. The idea of being forced into any sort of slavery is horrifying to him. He needs control.

Twist

A lot like Edge, Twist is afraid of losing himself to his LV, only for him, the possibility is a lot more realistic. At this point, he’s just counting down the days until it happens.

8. Do they have anything that triggers them?

Papyrus

Nothing of note. Papyrus has pretty steel nerves when it comes to trauma–which he hasn’t experienced much of in his lifetime in any case.

Edge

There are a lot of things that bother Edge, and honestly, my headcanons for this would change in every different AU or fic I’ve written, since I don’t actually have a clear-cut background for him. I’d say a pretty consistent trigger for him though, is being tied up. He doesn’t like having no control over himself, or being left completely vulnerable. It’s absolutely terrifying for him, and would likely induce a panic attack.

Stretch

Without the obvious ‘Reset flashbacks’, there isn’t really anything that outright triggers him.

Slim

Much like Edge, I don’t actually have an explicitly defined background for Slim, so I’m not too sure what his general triggers would be. (I think it’s about time I write a long, angsty fic delving into his traumatic past. All of their pasts, actually.)

Cash

I have a few background headcanons for Cash, but nothing specific enough to really nail down his triggers. I might say that he gets a bit of anxiety when it comes to sex, but I wouldn’t go so far as to call it a trigger. Mostly, he’s just afraid of displeasing his partners.

Twist

I mean, Sins of the Past pretty much nails Twist’s triggers. Apples and small spaces lol. But, I don’t know if Kit has any more up her sleeve (knowing her, she does, but I won’t attempt to guess what any of them are. Triggers are very much based on experience, so it’s difficult to deduce them without knowing a character’s past.)

25.

Have they ever been betrayed by someone they thought they could trust?

Papyrus

Nothing canon comes to mind, so I’m going to say no. (Even if we consider the genocide route, I honestly don’t think Papyrus ever ‘trusted’ the human in the first place).

Edge

Many, many people. Throughout his childhood and teen years, Edge was a little too naive, and was often taken advantage of for it. He doesn’t trust many people anymore.

Stretch

He hasn’t experienced any betrayals of particular significance. (Though as with the trigger question, this could change based on the AU/fic I’m writing for).

Slim

Most notably–his brother. Razz became a lot more withdrawn as they grew older, whereas, they were very close as children. I also like the headcanon that the Queen took them in after they escaped Gaster’s lab–Slim quickly learnt that she wasn’t much better than his maker, and her ‘adoption’ of them wasn’t an act of kindness.

Cash

His brother. But not in the same way Razz ‘betrayed’ Slim. (Again, I could ramble on for ages about my headcanons for Cash and his brother). I’ll just say that he and his brother had a ‘disagreement’–and Cash still considers this a betrayal on his brother’s behalf (they both have their own side to the story however).

Twist

I might have to skip Twist for this one, since Kit has a lot of background plot planned out for him, and I wouldn’t want to misconstrue it. But I guess the obvious answer is Twistfell Muffet. She’s a very bad spider.

28.

Is there a certain type of person that disgusts them?

Papyrus

There isn’t really anyone who Papyrus truly despises (or any particular type of person). He genuinely believes that anyone is capable of redemption. That said, if someone were to continue to betray his trust, he may eventually snap. It would take a lot though (and it would likely involve someone hurting the people he cares about, rather than himself).

Edge

It’s a bit difficult to nail one exact type of person Edge is revolted by–there are so many types of awful people in his world. I think one thing he would never be able to excuse, would be sexual exploitation. Murder, he can let pass (depending on the circumstances. It is the way of his universe, and self-defence is often necessary). But rape is inexcusable. He can’t perceive any reasonable motive for someone to do that to another monster.

Stretch

Stretch doesn’t so much get disgusted by people as he does just avoid them. He tries to stay away from ‘predatory’ people (especially when he’s visiting Fell-verses). He might be disgusted by a lot of the stuff that goes on in Fell-verses, but again, he tends to stay out of the way of those sorts of people, and tries not to give them much thought.

Slim

Slim has sort of… seen it all, at this point. He’s almost immune to typically ‘disgusting’ behaviour, so it almost doesn’t register with him anymore.

Cash

Honestly? Not really. There are certain behaviours he finds detestable, but he’s fairly averse to being around people in general. So, I’ll just be sarcastic here, and say “everyone”.

Twist

Uhhhh…. himself. (Sorry Twist).

30. Have they ever been bullied?

Papyrus

Papyrus would tell you that he’s never been bullied. Deep down, he sort of knows that a lot of monsters snicker and scoff behind his back, but he chooses to ignore it. It does get to him, but he’s very good at hiding it, or just powering through it.

Edge

I mean… does living in Underfell count as being bullied? I’d say Edge’s entire life has been a stream of bullies. He just grew big and strong enough to scare them off.

Stretch

Why do I suddenly have so many sad headcanons for this boy?

Stretch (my Stretch, anyway) is very delicate, emotionally. Which a lot of kids took advantage of while he was young. (Until his brother found out, then they’d be running for the hills). But, being so prone to sensitivity, Stretch might blow things out of proportion in his own head. What he might perceive as bullying, someone else might take to be nothing more than light teasing. He’s very insecure.

Slim

A lot of Slim’s life has involved being taken advantage of. Especially when he was a child, being very frail and weak, he was a perfect target for some of the more aggressive children. Razz was almost always there to fight them off, though. (Which is partly why his brother’s animosity in adult life is so painful for Slim).

Cash

Cash doesn’t tolerate bullshit (and never has). Most people are too afraid to target him, and those that try to are very quickly dealt with. (If anything, Cash was more of a bully himself. Dick.)

Twist

Again, Kit’s headcanons are probably more applicable here. But, if I were to make any assumptions about Twist, I’d say that–much like Cash–most monsters have always been too intimidated by him to pick on him. He’s a big, strong boy.

35.

If they could change one thing about themselves, what would it be?

Papyrus

Papyrus likes to tell himself that he’s completely happy with who he is. But, truth be told, he sometimes wishes he wasn’t assumed to be so ‘innocent’. He isn’t entirely sure what he’d need to change about himself to achieve this, but he doesn’t always enjoy being treated like a naive child.

Edge

If Edge could reverse his LV somehow, he would. He likes to think of it as something separate from him–like an entire different manifestation of himself–but in truth, it feels too infused into his lifestyle to be so easily discarded.

Stretch

If asked, he might say ‘everything’. He’s not very at peace with himself. Though, when he becomes a part of the Poly-Papyrus dynamic, his partners teach him to place more value on himself. It’s tough going though. He’s very insecure about his social behaviour, his appearance, his talents. He sort of just wishes he could ‘improve’ himself a bit.

Slim

Slim is a lot like Stretch in that he’s very insecure about himself in general. If he had to pick one thing he’d like to improve, it would likely be his ability to function in social situations. His anxiety prevents him from completely engaging in conversations most of the time, and this only serves to further his other insecurities about himself.

Cash

Cash likes to parade around his best qualities–he’s a (somewhat) shameless brag when it comes to things he’s good at. But in reality, he is very insecure about how talented he is in many regards. (Especially sexually. Though he did sex work for many years, there wasn’t much required of him at this time. He mostly just allowed himself to be ‘used’. When it comes to pleasing his partners, he grows very anxious about whether or not he’s ‘doing it right’.)

Twist

His LV. Twist doesn’t really place much value in himself as a person as it is, but his LV plants the idea in his head that he’s more of a liability, or a danger. Without it, he’d probably still consider himself a bit unlovable, but he would feel, at least, that he wasn’t a threat to the people he cared about.

From this character ask meme.

Could I ask for number 1 for the papyruses? Papyri? The skeles names papyrus.

1. What is one word to shut them up?

Okay, I was seriously struggling to come up with just one word for this, so I’ve done “a phrase” or a “conversation topic”. I hope that’s okay. (Also, I borrowed Twist again. Sorry Kit.)

Papyrus

Puns. Any puns. He might make a loud exclamation of disgust, but more than likely, he’ll go very silent and just glare. (This is true of many of the non-lazy Papyri).

Edge

So much as mention Edge’s LV, and he’ll go become silent and withdrawn (especially if he’s close to the person who brought it up). It’s a particularly sensitive subject if he’s had a bad day (and perhaps even gained some EXP). He doesn’t like talking about it outside of work. He’d prefer to pretend it doesn’t exist.

Stretch

The boy likes to talk, but there is one reliable way to get him to shut up–compliment him. He doesn’t know what to do. He turns into a wide-eyed baby deer in headlights. This is significantly effective if it’s a compliment on his physical appearance. “Nice jeans, Stretch.” ……. O.O

Slim

Honestly, it’s getting Slim to talk that’s the problem. He’s silent most of the time anyway. So, I’m cheating. I’m going to say that the way to get him to actually start talking is to bring up music (yes, I’m totally stealing Kit’s headcanon that Slim likes music. I love it. Piano Boy.). Even if it’s something as simple as his favourite genre or band, he’ll immediately open up if you take an interest.

Cash

His brother. (I have a whole set of headcanons for Cash’s relationship with his brother, but I won’t get into it now, or we’d be here for hours). I’ll just say this–they don’t have a healthy relationship. I wouldn’t go so far as to say they despise each other, but they definitely don’t get along. So when Cash spends time with his friends (or lovers, or enemies) he doesn’t like bringing his brother into the conversation. Avoid topic at all costs.

Twist

(Sorry, I’m stealing Twist for a shitpost moment). “Beans.” No one knows why, but as soon as you say the word “beans” around Twist, he falls completely silent, and won’t speak until you say the word again. It’s his “jinx word”.

From this character ask meme.

41 Edge and Stretch :P

41. Do they get sick often?

Another thing that I’ve never really given much consideration–monster illnesses.

Edge

Edge doesn’t really get ‘sick’–but (especially when he’s still living underground), he is very prone to suffering symptoms of low HP (due to his lifestyle). If he gets into a particularly bad fight, he might need a few days to recover and heal (both physically and emotionally). But, I wouldn’t call this a ‘sickness’. It’s mostly just exhaustion. His immune system is pretty strong, with his HP providing a good buffer against disease.

Stretch

Stretch is a lot more prone to magical-related illnesses than Edge is. With his low HP, his body isn’t very well-equipped to fight off even the smallest of viruses or bacteria. He’s also in a lot more danger of Falling Down, but with the support of his brother (and later, Edge), Falling Down isn’t too much of a concern. He just needs lots of attention and hugs. He’s a soft boy. (And when Stretch does get sick, he’s very well taken care of–either by his brother or Edge. Just wrap him in blankets and let him sleep it off).

From this character ask meme.

19 – For all the Papyrus-es. (Twist included, lol.)

19. Do they consider themselves ugly?

No, they’re all beautiful!!!!!

(Serious answer is beneath the cut.)

Papyrus

Classic Papyrus is pretty confident in his appearance–but that’s mostly because he puts so much effort into it, that he knows he must always be looking great! With that said, he would feel pretty self-conscious if someone put him down for how he looked (be it his choice of clothing, or the complexion of his bones). Papyrus likes to please people, and hearing that someone finds his looks distasteful would almost definitely hurt his feelings. (He is very good at bolstering his confidence back up however. And if he’s feeling particularly unhappy, he might buy himself a new accessory as a means of comfort.)

Edge

Edge doesn’t consider himself “ugly”–but he is very insecure about his scars. He doesn’t like people to see them, and even if he’s in an intimate relationship with someone (or multiple people) he’ll try and keep as many articles of clothing on during sex as he can. I like to think that Edge enjoys dressing in clothes that draw attention away from his scars–deep, rich colours, leather–and, when they reach the Surface, he discovers the joys of using make up to cover them up. (Overtime though, certain skeletons teach him that his scars aren’t something to be ashamed of. But it’s a very slow process, and his hang-ups never completely pass.)

Stretch

Stretch isn’t very concerned with his appearance. Though he likes being told that he looks nice (it’s a surefire way to get him to blush), he doesn’t make much of an effort to make himself presentable. However, his motivation for doing so is largely related to his “if I don’t try, I can’t fail” ideal. If he hasn’t tried, by his logic, he has an excuse for feeling bad about how he looks. (Most of the time though, his physical appearance will only cross his mind when he’s trying to flirt, or when he’s having sex. Much like Edge, he gets self-conscious about removing all his clothes.)

Slim

Slim doesn’t like how he looks. His physical appearance (worn, beaten, bruised) feels too resemblant of how he feels internally, and he doesn’t like displaying weakness. He hides beneath many layers of clothing to keep this ‘weakness’ concealed. And, a lot like Edge, Slim hates his scars. He’s probably not as insecure about them as Edge is, but he prefers to hide them.

Cash

Cash, strangely, kind of likes how he looks. That’s not to say there aren’t things he would change about himself–but unlike Edge and Slim, Cash takes pride in his scars. He thinks of them as sort of ‘victory badges’, and he isn’t afraid to flaunt them. Much like Slim though, Cash doesn’t like how ‘frail’ he appears. Given his low HP, Cash has that brittle look about him, and he worries that it makes him an attractive target for free EXP. It’s why he glares so much.

Twist

Twist (I’ll call him “my” Twist, since I’m not too sure about your headcanons for this, Kit) isn’t overly concerned with his physical appearance. He might “incidentally” wear clothes that accentuate his best features, or “unintentionally” stand in a certain way while he’s flirting that reveals just a sliver of his gorgeous ribcage–okay, Twist is pretty proud of how he looks. He might pretend not to put effort in, but he secretly loves flaunting the best aspects of his body. He could probably withstand a few jabs at his appearance, but it might kill his confidence a bit (depending who the jab comes from. If it’s Cash, he doesn’t give a fuck.) I will say that, in the past, Twist may have been a little ashamed of his scars, but these days, they’re so much a part of him, that he barely notices them anymore. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that he hates them, but… he’s not really proud of them either. Not all of them, at least.

I personally like this one better. His coat is so cool~

Aww, wow! I actually love this. All the silver really makes him look the part, and I really like the design for his boots. And his coat! It has a very rustic, travel-worn feel to it, which is honestly exactly what I picture when I see Edge.

Thank you for doing all these designs! You’re so imaginative—they’re utterly amazing!
