FIC: Biting Off More Than You Can Chew; part 1

keelywolfe:

Summary: When Red asks Rus to look in on his sick brother, Rus agrees to stop by. Eh, it can’t hurt to help out a pal. Right?

Notes: This title is like a metaphor for my life. Why do I do this to myself?

PLEASE READ THE TAGS: This is a Heat story, so there are going to be issues of consent. I don’t do partner rape, nope, but hey, I want to be straight with y’all.  I like heatfics personally, but I understand how they can be troubling for some people. So there it is. There is no explicit sex in this chapter. There will be eventually. There are some dubious consent-ish happenings.

Hnnnngggg already so looking forward to this! Heat fics aren’t always my cup of tea, but you’ve set this up really well (and I mean—it’s Spicyhoney!! YOUR Spicyhoney! I can’t wait!)

Would you ever write a “heat” fic? Asked with the knowledge that you don’t write extreme nsfw

Okay. Anon, this is weird. Get out of my head.

No, but seriously, about two days ago I added a heat fic to my list of planned projects. I’ve got it plotted out and everything. However, I’m warning all of you right now, it’s not your typical heat fic. And not just for the lack of smut. I’m gonna need to tag the crap out of this one too—it’s hard angst and hurt/comfort. And, more likely than not, it’s not going to be angsty in the way you’d expect either.

I honestly have a weakness for heat fics though. And there are intriguing elements of it that get ignored because, you know, it’s a smut trope—its really not meant to be more than that. So, yeah, you can expect at least one fic, possibly more, from me. But none of them will be what you expect, more likely than not.

So. Remember when I said I had a fic all plotted out and everything…?

Well. It got a little bit out of hand. I’m going to be posting to AO3 eventually, but I want to update Compound Fracture first.

…however. I thought you all might appreciate this sneak peek.

Rating: T (for now)

Pairings: Spicyhoneyberry, heavier emphasis on Spicyhoney

Warnings will change. For now, though, just discussion of heat cycles and some anxiety, denial, and horror. Once again, this is the fluffy chapter.
