41 Edge and Stretch :P

41. Do they get sick often?

Another thing that I’ve never really given much consideration–monster illnesses.

Edge

Edge doesn’t really get ‘sick’–but (especially when he’s still living underground), he is very prone to suffering symptoms of low HP (due to his lifestyle). If he gets into a particularly bad fight, he might need a few days to recover and heal (both physically and emotionally). But, I wouldn’t call this a ‘sickness’. It’s mostly just exhaustion. His immune system is pretty strong, with his HP providing a good buffer against disease.

Stretch

Stretch is a lot more prone to magical-related illnesses than Edge is. With his low HP, his body isn’t very well-equipped to fight off even the smallest of viruses or bacteria. He’s also in a lot more danger of Falling Down, but with the support of his brother (and later, Edge), Falling Down isn’t too much of a concern. He just needs lots of attention and hugs. He’s a soft boy. (And when Stretch does get sick, he’s very well taken care of–either by his brother or Edge. Just wrap him in blankets and let him sleep it off).

19 – For all the Papyrus-es. (Twist included, lol.)

19. Do they consider themselves ugly?

No, they’re all beautiful!!!!!

(Serious answer is beneath the cut.)

Papyrus

Classic Papyrus is pretty confident in his appearance–but that’s mostly because he puts so much effort into it, that he knows he must always be looking great! With that said, he would feel pretty self-conscious if someone put him down for how he looked (be it his choice of clothing, or the complexion of his bones). Papyrus likes to please people, and hearing that someone finds his looks distasteful would almost definitely hurt his feelings. (He is very good at bolstering his confidence back up however. And if he’s feeling particularly unhappy, he might buy himself a new accessory as a means of comfort.)

Edge

Edge doesn’t consider himself “ugly”–but he is very insecure about his scars. He doesn’t like people to see them, and even if he’s in an intimate relationship with someone (or multiple people) he’ll try and keep as many articles of clothing on during sex as he can. I like to think that Edge enjoys dressing in clothes that draw attention away from his scars–deep, rich colours, leather–and, when they reach the Surface, he discovers the joys of using make up to cover them up. (Overtime though, certain skeletons teach him that his scars aren’t something to be ashamed of. But it’s a very slow process, and his hang-ups never completely pass.)

Stretch

Stretch isn’t very concerned with his appearance. Though he likes being told that he looks nice (it’s a surefire way to get him to blush), he doesn’t make much of an effort to make himself presentable. However, his motivation for doing so is largely related to his “if I don’t try, I can’t fail” ideal. If he hasn’t tried, by his logic, he has an excuse for feeling bad about how he looks. (Most of the time though, his physical appearance will only cross his mind when he’s trying to flirt, or when he’s having sex. Much like Edge, he gets self-conscious about removing all his clothes.)

Slim

Slim doesn’t like how he looks. His physical appearance (worn, beaten, bruised) feels too resemblant of how he feels internally, and he doesn’t like displaying weakness. He hides beneath many layers of clothing to keep this ‘weakness’ concealed. And, a lot like Edge, Slim hates his scars. He’s probably not as insecure about them as Edge is, but he prefers to hide them.

Cash

Cash, strangely, kind of likes how he looks. That’s not to say there aren’t things he would change about himself–but unlike Edge and Slim, Cash takes pride in his scars. He thinks of them as sort of ‘victory badges’, and he isn’t afraid to flaunt them. Much like Slim though, Cash doesn’t like how ‘frail’ he appears. Given his low HP, Cash has that brittle look about him, and he worries that it makes him an attractive target for free EXP. It’s why he glares so much.

Twist

Twist (I’ll call him “my” Twist, since I’m not too sure about your headcanons for this, Kit) isn’t overly concerned with his physical appearance. He might “incidentally” wear clothes that accentuate his best features, or “unintentionally” stand in a certain way while he’s flirting that reveals just a sliver of his gorgeous ribcage–okay, Twist is pretty proud of how he looks. He might pretend not to put effort in, but he secretly loves flaunting the best aspects of his body. He could probably withstand a few jabs at his appearance, but it might kill his confidence a bit (depending who the jab comes from. If it’s Cash, he doesn’t give a fuck.) I will say that, in the past, Twist may have been a little ashamed of his scars, but these days, they’re so much a part of him, that he barely notices them anymore. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that he hates them, but… he’s not really proud of them either. Not all of them, at least.

insanelyadd:

We were talking about how Sans is frequently made the sad loner in fan works with Papyrus being the popular boy, always hanging out with one of his 50,000 friends.

In reality there’s a joke in game about how well known Sans is, while Papyrus actually says out loud “I DON’T EVER WONDER WHAT HAVING LOTS OF FRIENDS IS LIKE.” which is. An obvious lie. Why do people think he’s being sincere there?

skeletorific:

*slams fists on table* EDGE. BLUEBERRY. FRIENDSHIP. HEADCANONS.

Listen, this relationship has just become SO IMPORTANT to me to think about because its honestly overlooked potential in the fandom (in my opinion at least). What little there is, is generally “angry tsundere seeks to protect the innocence of the bouncy baby sheep”.

Not that this can’t be a fun dynamic, but given that I’ve been trying to distance myself lately from both Baby Blue and Evil Overlord Edge interpretations I thought I’d give my own take on this unlikely friendship.

-While it was a rocky start, Edge actually developed a pretty quick respect for Blue. Though a lot smaller, he was clearly a powerful opponent. Blue is a hard worker and gives his all to everything he does, which is a characteristic Edge will always hold in high regard. The optimism and overt friendliness was a little insufferable at first, but it was a little easier hearing those things from an alternate of Sans than from his own Tale counterpart. Eventually he even grew a certain fondness for his upbeat attitude, though he never shared it.

-It actually took Blue a little longer to warm up to Edge than Edge to him. While Blue is friendly and generally tries to see the best in people, he was initally a little repelled by Edge’s bossiness and hypernegative attitude towards life. He was still polite and tried to include him in group activities but he didn’t really seek Edge out for one on one interactions at the start. Slowly, though, he began to realize that Edge was one of the few people that didn’t treat him like a kid brother. Edge never seemed thrown when Blue would say something sarcastic, nor did he ask if something was wrong if Blue just wasn’t smiling as much that day. Hanging out with Edge was almost a break for him, a break from having to be the bright shining light of positivity. With Edge he could indulge himself in some more repressed sides of his personality, such as his penchant for the occasionaly dark joke or his sometimes startlingly grim views on the future or life. Don’t get me wrong, Blue is genuinely a positive person, who hopes for the best and is generally pretty happy. But at his core, he’s still a Sans, and still has those darker, lower energy moments. Being with Edge was like he finally had permission to be that way when he had to.

-Both are total gym rats and spend a lot of time comparing workouts and competing over reps. They have absolutely done that thing where they take treadmills next to each other and play Chicken with the speed settings. One time Blue tripped and got launched through the wall behind them. Still, its good natured.

-When not at the gym they spend a bizarre amount of time in mall food courts. Sometime they’ll go shopping but they also like to just talk and people watch. Edge will never admit it but he has a serious weakness for Cinnabon and Blue likes the Orange Julius’.

-Blue is the Adrenaline Junkie and Edge is the Mom Friend who will do pretty much anything if you accuse him of being chicken. They do everything from skydiving to streak through government property in the dead of night. Edge complains the whole time.

-They give each other pretty much constant shit for how each other dresses.

Edge: NICE OUTFIT, SOMEONE DID TELL YOU THERE ARE COLORS OTHER THAN BLUE, RIGHT?

Blue: WAS HOT TOPIC HAVING A FIRE SALE? BECAUSE THOSE CLOTHES OUGHT TO BE BURNED

-Edge is the designated driver, mostly because he backseat drives Blue likes crazy

@itsladykit You might appreciate some of these ^-^

Huuuuuuh, nsfw??? Okay! How do you think Edge x Slim sexy times will work??

itsladykit:

I have been holding onto this one for a while now. Alright, NSFW below the cut. Heavy talk of BDSM and light painplay discussion. Nothing explicit.

Kit. Stop this. I don’t need to add more fuel to the burning fire that is my love for Spicymaple. Stop talking about their bedroom stuff. It’s giving me an itch that needs to be scratched.

Hey—I have another question, you lovely person you <3 How'd you actually get into SpicyHoney? My logic was "They're the two hottest Papyrus's. MAKE THEM LOVE" XD But do you have a story behind it?

cheapbourbon:

Oh. boy.

I really love these headcanons. Especially Rus’s characteristics. I can never pinpoint what exactly it is that I love about Spicyhoney, but this definitely hits the nail on the head. They’re a wonderful complement to each other.

Here. Have a headcanon.

itsladykit:

Edge isn’t tsundere. Not really. Tsundere will pretend not to like someone or simply aren’t equipped to deal with their own feelings and will lash out rather than be honest with themselves and others.

No, Edge isn’t tsundere. He’s just really bad at flirting. He hasn’t had much, if any, practice himself, and what experience he does have is…less than positive. So unless someone is very direct about their interests, it tends to go over his head. Given his gruff nature, it often comes off as if he isn’t interested or even as a harsh brush off. But, honestly, he just doesn’t necessarily know that someone is trying to flirt with him.

Imagine:

“Hey, I’m seen you around town, and I was thinking–”

“Really? Because I’ve never noticed you.”

Or:

“That fall from heaven had to hurt, angel.”

“…I am a monster, not a devil. Please educate yourself, human. There is a difference.”

Edge isn’t tsundere. He just doesn’t know how to flirt.
