âWhat about a Komodo Dragon?â
Four pairs of eyelights turned to stare at Twist, then looked away. âI donât see why the two of you are so opposed to a cat,â Edge said, arms crossed as he regarded Rus and Slim. Slim ducked his head and scuffed his toe on the carpet, but Rus just rolled his eyelights.
âOr a tiger!â
Cash looked over at Twist, eyelight flaring in interest, but Rus and Edge simultaneously said, âNo!â before resuming their argument.
â âcause cats are annoying. and mean. they donât even really like you; they just hang around âcause you feed them!â
âA flock of flamingos!â
Edge glared at Rus. âYou just canât handle keeping a pet that doesnât completely dote on you!â Leaning forward, he said, âFrankly, I think that says a good deal more about you than it does the cat.â
âA monkey!â
With a sigh, Cash slapped a hand over Twistâs mouth and said, âiâve got a solution.â Rus and Edge turned to him, and Slim lifted his head, brow-bone raised in question. Chuckling, Cash pushed Twist in front of him and said, âall he needs is a collar.â When Twist started to growl, he added, âand a muzzle.â
Rus and Edge glanced at each other. ââŚi can live with that.â With a wink, he said, âheâs certainly obedient.â
âBut still somewhat independent.â
âdonât forget exotic,â Cash added, smirking.
Twist huffed, but Slim patted him on the head sympathetically, and he leaned into the contactâŚuntil Slim said, âgood boy.â
