Hi, dear. I’m quite late to this latest chapter but I’m absolutely loving it! I just wanted to give my input to the “graphic depictions of violence” conundrum. I personally don’t think chapter five was terribly graphic, the previous chapter maybe. I also of course need to sing your praises for this wonderful and amazing story. I’m hooked and I cant wait for the next update!

Oh wow, thank you so much! This honestly means so much to me, and I really appreciate the time you took to send this ❤

As for the graphic violence tag–I decided to include it, just to be safe. I personally wasn’t too bothered by the violence, but I tend to have a stomach for that kind of thing, where I know some people might not. And, uh… things might get worse from here.

Potential spoilers beneath the cut in case anyone wants to avoid them ^^

Red will be making an appearance later on–towards the end of the fic. Although he isn’t present for much of the storyline, his role in Edge’s decisions and development is pretty important (and will become even more significant in the last few chapters).

And again–thank you. You have no idea how much it means to me to hear that you’re enjoying it. It’s honestly so motivating. I’ll admit that I was a little worried people would find the world-building boring when I first started writing it, but I’ve received some lovely feedback on it, and it’s really touching. I’m having a lot of fun writing this fic–I’m really happy you’re enjoying it!

For the Fanfic ask: 1, 2, and 10. :)

1.

If you’re an author, how many WIPs do you currently have? (Be honest!)

>_<

Okay, let me count……

…….

……

Alright, it’s not that bad. A little more than 10. Some of them I know I’m never going to get to doing though. So, of the ones I actually plan on posting, it’s probably closer to 7 or 8.

2.

What’s next on your ‘to-read’ list? (Fan fiction or otherwise)

Well, on the non-fan fiction side of things, I am currently reading the Game of Thrones series–it’s taking me a long time though. I’m not actually that good at reading stuff. I’m very slow, and I don’t read frequently enough to get through things quickly.

As for fanfiction, I tend to read one-shots more than longer fics, simply because I don’t normally have the time to catch up on longer fics. So, unless I’ve been there from the beginning, I tend not to read longer fics very often. (I used to, but I stopped after I started writing).

10. Mutual pining or enemies to friends to lovers?

ENEMIES TO FRIENDS TO LOVERS.

One of my favourite tropes. (I mean, geez, I think that’s pretty much all I write about, now that I look back on some of my longer fics?)

I do like the mutual pining trope too, but I think it’s generally a bit soft for me. I like my boys to hate each other before coming to terms with the rampant sexual chemistry between them.

Thank you, Deck! From here.

for the fanfic ask meme, 5 and 7? <3

5. What’s a crackship you love?

Oh man, I’m pretty sure there were a bunch of ships I used to like just because they were kind of ridiculous sounding (see: Edgelord Supreme)–but I’ve inevitably thought of ways to turn them into beautiful, dramatic, angsty

romances.

I think I’m generally not as interested in the real crackships though, because I like to evolve my characters’ relationships in meaningful ways. It’s sort of hard for me to get behind ships that just make me laugh–unless it’s for shitpost reasons.

7. What’s the last thing you read that made you cry?

Oooooh.

I’m actually not really one for crying when it comes to reading, but the most recent fic that got me pretty close to crying would probably have to be I Ask You To Be Mine by @casualbones. Warning for Major Character Death with that one. (The fact that it’s Spicyhoney is what really got me, I think. Only I’m allowed to make my boys sad.)

Thank you, Sesu! From here.

17. Describe a fic that is still in the ‘ideas’ stage. ^.^

I’ll spare you paragraphs upon paragraphs of all the fic ideas I have churning around in my stupid brain, and just explain one lol.

It’s a Spicymaple (Edge/Slim) fic. Bad Brother Red AU. There’s a Reset in Slim’s universe, and he loses all memories of his relationship with Edge. It’s a rough uphill battle for them to get back to where they were originally–especially with Red trying to sabotage any and all things that bring Edge genuine happiness.

I have so many other things I need to work on, but I really hope I get the chance to flesh this one out properly, because I’ve been thinking about it for a while, and I really like the idea.

Thanks, Bourbon! From here.

14?

14. Post a line of dialogue from one of your WIPs without context.

Okay, this is a line I might not end up using, but I’m really proud of it, so I hope it stays:

“Bloody hell, Rus—you’re a fucking vampire. Start acting like one.”

Edge is getting a little fed up.

Thank you, Kit! From here.

12, 15, 19

12. Friends with benefits or secret dating?

Damn it. These are hard. Can’t I just do all of them?

I mean, Sixteen Rules was basically secret friends with benefits? :))) Overall, probably the friends with benefits one though. I like secret dating, but my skeletons are pretty horny and hyper-sexual, so they don’t normally ‘date’.

15. Post the last line you wrote without context.

Oh geez, Painty. You do know what I’m writing at the moment, don’t you?

“His soul felt empty and raw—as if
someone had taken a knife and scraped all the magic from it.”
(This is far worse with context, let me tell you.)

19. What’s your favourite character headcanon?

God, there are so many good ones to choose from. I don’t think I actually have just one favourite–but one that I really like is the headcanon that skeletons purr when they’re really relaxed (or really distressed). Thanks Kit.

Thanks, Painty ^^ From here.

8. Bed sharing or roommates AU?

>_<

Do I have to pick one?

Sigh. Okay. I think I’m going to go with roommates AU for a longer fic, and bed sharing for a one shot. I’m allowed to do that, right? 🙂

I like the idea of a “roommates who don’t get along at first” AU, because it provides potential for a lot of character development, and more interesting plot.

The bed sharing thing is so much fun for one shots though–or even slow burn fics where we’ve reached the “just fuck already, guys!!!” point.

Thank you, Fresh!. From here.

Who would be the most competitive when it comes to an Easter egg hunt?

I hope you don’t mind – I threw in a few extra skeletons! ^-^’ (And, in hindsight, I went a bit overboard with this).

From least to most competitive:

Sans – he doesn’t really care for competition. He mostly just plays along for the fun of it. (Although he might attempt to mess with a few of the others Red and Razz by hiding eggs in… strange places).

Twist – he will certainly “bring his A game”, so to speak, but he isn’t concerned with winning. He mostly gets involved in the competition for the entertainment of the other skeletons. And, it’s also fun for him to watch a select few skeletons become enraged over losing. Cash.

Slim – he isn’t too fussed by how many eggs he finds, or how quickly he finds them. He does enjoy hunts though–and, much like Twist, he particularly enjoys watching some of the more competitive skeletons infuriate each other.

Blackberry – BB doesn’t mind a little friendly competition, but he wouldn’t be overly upset if he lost. He actually prefers hiding the eggs–watching the other skeletons frantically running around in search of them is an exciting form of entertainment for him.

Spark – he likes to get involved, and he enjoys the novelty of hunting for eggs, but winning isn’t really a priority for him. The only time he might get a bit annoyed about losing, is if someone he dislikes wins (cough Razz cough).

Stretch – this honestly depends on who else is involved. If a certain edgy skeleton is participating, he might muster up some competitive spirit, but most of the time, he’s satisfied to “not try” (partly because he takes losing to heart–he’s very much of the ‘I can’t fail if I don’t try’ mentality).

Red – he probably won’t really make much of an effort to win, but he’s a very sore loser. Not much fun in an Easter egg hunt. He tends to hide them instead.

Blue – he likes to put his best effort into winning, and he does enjoy the thrill of the victory, but he doesn’t mind taking a loss.

Papyrus – though he isn’t a sore loser, Papyrus loves the competition. He’ll always try his best to win, and he takes great pride in being able to find the most eggs.

Edge – most of the time, Edge tries to sit out–knowing full well how competitive he can get. But, when coerced into joining in, he can be pretty relentless. Winning is no small matter to him.

Braise – Braise very much enjoys winning–but it’s almost a compulsive thing for him. He gets very frustrated when he loses, so, much like Edge, he tries to sit out.

Razz – Razz will brush off Easter egg hunts as a “juvenile game”, but in reality, winning is very important to him. He mostly tries to pass off his hard-earned victories as “talent-based flukes”.

Cash – a highly competitive boy when Twist is involved. Don’t go near him while he’s hunting for eggs if you’re Twist, because he will go to extreme lengths to sabotage Twist you. Cash has an ingrained need to impress–even when it comes to things as basic as egg hunts. And if he wins, he’ll make sure Twist everyone remembers it. He’s a shameless brag.

This was loads of fun, thank you for sending this in! ^^

Braise and Spark belong to @sansy-fresh‘s Servantfell AU.

Twist and Blackberry belong to @itsladykit‘s Twistfell AU.
