37 42 kedgeup

This one came in after I’d posted the rest of them, so I’ll make it the last one. Thank you for sending it in! Kedgeup is really growing on me. (Sorry it took me a while to get to this!)

From this shipping ask meme.

37. “How much would they be willing to sacrifice for the other? Any lines they refuse to cross?”

I can say, with ease, that these two would kill for each other. Almost unconditionally. They’d probably die for each other as well, but neither of them would ever allow it to escalate to that point. One thing they would never sacrifice for each other however, would be family. Sans wouldn’t do anything for Edge that might have detrimental effects on his own brother, and vice versa. Additionally, I highly doubt either of them would change for the other. At least, not beyond a certain point. I’m sure there are many things both of them would like to change about themselves, but that’s an entirely different conversation.

42. “Do they let each other get away with things that would normally bother them?”

Depending on the circumstances, they might.

Sans is more likely to let Edge get away with things he disapproves of than the other way round, but even he has his limits. He’s generally pretty relaxed, giving the Edgelord free reign when it comes to behaving in a ‘Fell universe’ manner when he’s visiting Sans in his own universe. And normally, Edge understands social cues well enough to know when he’s doing something that bothers Sans (but even this isn’t a very common occurrence). Every now and then however, Edge slips up a little, and might snap. Sans is well equipped to handle a little moodiness – but he will not tolerate any disrespect (intentional or not) towards his brother. If Edge offhandedly snaps at Papyrus, Sans will be on him in a flash. He won’t put up with it. No matter how much shit Edge has been dealing with.

As for Edge… well, he’s been living with Red for a long time. Let’s just say, he’s pretty well equipped to handle Sans’ slovenly habits. He’s actually rather skilled at convincing him to assist with household chores (one way or another. He’s not above using sex to bribe his lazy boyfriend). He’ll also never tolerate any self-deprecation from Sans. He’s very good at picking up signals, and if Sans is going through a particularly ‘bad time’ (heh), he’ll be there for him and more. One thing that Edge lets Sans get away with (which he would never allow in his own universe), is making fun of his brother (or, on occasion, gently threatening him). Sans seldom fails to get a rise out of Red, and while this might bother Edge under more pressing circumstances, he finds it rather amusing when it’s coming from Sans. It’s almost a nice break for him, seeing his brother getting riled up over something that isn’t serious.

This answer is getting a bit long aaah, but I really wanted to add this last bit. As far as their sex life goes, their roles tend to shift a bit from what they might be under ‘normal’ circumstances. While Edge normally prefers to dom (he feels more at ease when he’s in control), with Sans, he likes to be able to let go, and let Sans take the lead. It takes a while, but being with a Tale ‘verse monster gives him a little peace of mind. He feels safer around Sans, and is less reluctant to let Sans take control. Similarly, Sans is normally too lazy to dom. He likes to lie back and let his partner do all the work (whichever set of genitals he forms), but with Edge, he actually enjoys seeing him fall apart, and is happy to put in the work (for a change).
